With its gigantic (to that day the largest ever offered engine in a car) 7.7 litre V8 delivering its 355 SAE hp through an automatic gearbox to the front wheels, power steering, electrically operated windows and leather interior the Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado is the ultimate luxury coupe of this legendary brand from Detroit. This most imposing coupé with a model year 1969 was shipped to GM France towards the end of 1968 and then probably swiftly imported into Switzerland. The first registration in the Canton Schaffhausen followed shortly after in January 1969. Little is known about the Cadillac’s history until it was taken over by the vendor in 2020. He had the coachwork completely restored and repainted from bare metal. The interior was retrimmed with leather to original specs, new carpets and a new headlining. At the same time the Cadillac received a new set of white wall tyres and the engine as well as the rest of the oily bits were checked and repaired as necessary for the upcoming MOT. With probably 144’500 kilometres driven, the Cadillac presents itself in very good condition and will be sold to a next American car enthusiasts with the last Veteran MOT completed in March 2021.
